Andrew Gold developed the Jewish LunarSolar Calendar in 2003 to visually display the Jewish year and its cycles and made many revisions to it in the following years. It reflects expertise in information architecture, design, and crystal clear presentation. It changes the way we think about time. Some ideas, like a visual computer interface, invite an improved experience.

The Moon & The Sun

The Christian calendar is based upon the sun while the Muslim calendar is based upon the moon. The Jewish calendar balances the forces of the sun and the moon. It is a lunar calendar that makes a solar correction so that Passover will always arrive in the spring.

Clarity of Design

The majority of people — Jewish or not — have minimal understanding of the Jewish calendar. It was never presented clearly, beautifully and intelligently. The Jewish LunarSolar™ Calendar changes the way we see time, especially Jewish time.
